Admission and Tuition

GREAT LAKES BOAT BUILDING SCHOOL

COMPREHENSIVE BOAT BUILDING PROGRAM

2012-2013

 

Admission

 

Admission to the Great Lakes Boat Building School does not require prior experience. No credit is allowed for previous education or experience. The applicant must have a High School diploma or the equivalent and have the physical ability to undertake the wood working and boat building projects. Any applicant under the age of eighteen must have the signed permission of a parent or legal guardian except as noted below.

Comprehensive Boat Building Program Year 1 and 2  Total Hours   2,150 Clock Hours

 

Tuition for the Basic Boat Building program is $11,500. Tuition for Career Boat Building program is $10,500 for graduates of the GLBBS Basic Boat Building program. Those interested in only enrolling in the Career Boat Building program are invited to do so if they are graduates of another boat building program or have previous experience in boat building. Tuition for those only enrolling in the Career Boat Building program is $10,500. There are two payment options available:

 

  • A.) Payment may be made in full 30 days prior to the start of classes.  
  • B.) Partial payments may be paid over the course of the program. If this option is chosen $4,000 will be due thirty days prior to the beginning of each three month session for a total of $12,000.

 

The above tuition includes the courses as described in the GLBBS catalog and the GLBBS text for each Quarter. Students are responsible for the purchase of the required tools, personal notebooks, and travel for any optional field trips away from the GLBBS campus.

 

The Deadline for applying for the 2012-2013 programs is September 10, 2012. Application for acceptance requires the completion of the Admissions and Enrollment Form and a $100 Registration Fee. The tuition and fees paid by the applicant shall be refunded if the applicant is rejected by the School before enrollment. An Application Fee of not more than $25 may be retained by the School if the application is denied. All tuition and fees paid by the applicant will be refunded if requested within 3 business days after signing a contract with the School. All refunds shall be returned within 30 days. Once the 3 business days have elapsed, no refunds will be given. Completed forms and payment of fees should be sent to:
