The Great Lakes Boat Building School is located in Cedarville in the upper peninsula of Michigan, approximately 17 miles east of the Mackinac Bridge on the north shore of Lake Huron. Convenient air service is available to Pellston Airport (one hour south) or Chippewa County Airport (one hour north). There are a number of wonderful resorts, motels, and campgrounds around the Les Cheneaux Islands area in both Cedarville and Hessel.
